Melrose care home is a small and friendly home. It was originally built in the 19th century as a private care home for expectant mothers.

Melrose care home is situated close to St Ambrose’s Church, the railway station and town centre are two minutes away from the M6 motorway by car.

Our rooms are designed for the needs of the elderly. Situated in the heart of the community, we offer a warm and caring family approach to residential care in safe surroundings.

Our ai is to provide our residents with a secure relaxed and homely environment in which their care, well-being and comfort is of prime importance. We also aim to provide maximum choice and privacy along with four main principles of care: Rights, Dignity, Fulfilment and Independence.

Residents individual needs are discussed and assessed by the home manager with each prospective resident and their family. There are no restrictions in regards to religion, race or gender.

Our caring staff, most of whom are trained to minimum level 2 NVQ, are all on call 24 hours per day to support and help maintain all levels of care including transport and assistance for arranged hospital appointments.

Home cooking and special diets are catered for. All laundering for residents’ personal clothing and bedding is provided.

Fee levels vary according to your individual contract which we will agree with you. Payment can be made either by cheque or standing order. Residents can see their visitors either in the dining room lounges or the privacy of their own rooms. Tea and refreshments may also be offered to visitors.

Visiting

Visitors are welcome at any time and may stay if they wish, visits are made whenever possible, between reasonable hours of the day. We request visitors to make their presence known to staff when visiting and sign the visiting book. Refreshments will be provided if requested to the staff.

Admission

Melrose welcomes all ladies and gentlemen on long or short stay and respite care. Private and state funded residents are all welcome. Please feel free to call and look around the home.
